Shili is a planet covered with colorful turu-grass scrublands and expansive valley canopy pine tree forests and mountains. The coastlines form vast marshes, and the seas are wide and foggy. The most prominent city on Shili is Corvala, which is the capital.
Togruta are carnivorous natives of the planet Shili. In the past, whole tribes of Togrutas frequently worked together to overcome prey and then proudly incorporated portions of their kills into their wardrobes. However, many Togrutas have travelled off-world to establish colonies in the years since they became aware of wider galactic society. Freed from some of the traditions of their homeworld, these Togruta colonies have developed wildly different cultural paths. The artisan colony of Kiros, for example, focuses on nurturing creative expression and peaceful coexistence, along with a higher level of individuality among its citizens. Colonial Togrutas can thus differ greatly in outlook and attitudes from their cousins on Shili.
While all Togruta speak the native tongue of Togruti, most also speak Basic. Togruti incorporates trills, which have varied meanings depending upon tremors from a speaker’s head-tails.
Togruta are natural pack hunters and work effectively in large groups. Individualism is generally discouraged, but despite this fact, most Togruta leaders gain power and prestige through expressions of individuality. Togrutas have little sympathy for those who can’t contribute to society. However, most Togrutas quickly point out that contributions in the modern world can be wide and varied, ranging from the ability to construct valuable tools to the ability to entertain the rest of the pack through song or storytelling. This holds especially true in Shili’s growing urban areas, where keen minds can be more valuable than strong arms.
Most Togruta can still be found in the numerous villages found nestled in the forests and valleys. This character template centered on one particular village established next to a waterfall called Nadreen. The inhabitants called themselves the Nadreeni. The waterfall is used as a natural source of electricity making the village more independent than others.
Song is a big part of the tribe's culture. The tribal queen Savaa Olrira, would lead the tribe in song at the end of each day despite any trials and tribulations. Varied instruments accompanied the end of day performances. Most instruments were built from materials readily available from around the waterfall. Some adventurous Togruta would travel to Corvala and obtain exotic 'off planet' instruments.
'Coming of Age' is an important ceremony for Nadreeni. For those independent-minded Togruta who have 'Tozwaadir' or wanderlust. The tribe bids them farewell and gives them enough provisions to reach Corvala. A great many of them travel to Kiros. There they hone their skills related to modern technology and set their sites on the bigger galaxy.

Camouflage: Togruta characters possess colorful skin patterns which
help them blend in with natural surroundings (much like the
stripes of a tiger). This provides them with a +2 pip bonus to
sneak skill checks.
Spatial Awareness: Using a form of passive echolocation, Togruta can
sense their surroundings. If unable to see, a Togruta character can
attempt a Moderate search skill check. Success allows the Togruta
to perceive incoming attacks and react accordingly by making
defensive rolls.
